Forget Me Not Chapter 2 Callie's POV "James, James." I stammered I sat up slowly, my head was throbbing. Confused, I looked around at the room I was in. It resembled a little girls room. Just then I saw James poke his head in the doorway, toddler in one hand, bottle in another."Good morning sleeping beauty, or afternoon should I say, my aunt made you lunch, go eat up!" James grinned. I guess he saw my confused expression because after he said "I carried you in here 'cause you wouldn't wake up, It's one now go eat lunch, by the way there's advil on the counter if you need it, you've got quite the bump." He teased. I dragged my feet to the kitchen, took advil, and devoured the sandwich his aunt made me. I trotted back to the little girls room, where I saw James reading a book to the toddler. "Precious." I teased, getting him back for earlier. He blushed slightly then motioned for me to come over."This, is Lydia, she's almost three and knows all her numbers and abc's, right Lydia?" James introduced. Lydia frowned and pointed anxiously at the book "She's awfully shy, barely talks or cries." James said. Lydia looked at him and pouted"Whats wrong Lydia, use your words." He coaxed. She pouted even more"I bet Lydia want's to play!" I guessed. Lydias eyes widened and she pointed at a picture in the book James was reading. It was a picture of the beach. Me and James locked eyes and shrugged at the same time. 10 minutes later we were on the road, headed for the beach. Just a short car ride later I gaped at the abandoned beach."How is nobody here?!" I exclaimed"Private beach, that house over there belongs to my grandparents." James shrugged. I turned to run onto the white sand and blue water, but Lydia grabbed my leg and tugged on my shorts. She held her arms up towards me, grabbing at the air. I lifted her up and she squealed, pointing at the water. Lydia was surprisingly light so I started to jog with her towards the water, James followed carrying a large blanket, sunscreen, a few towels... and a surfboard!? "You surf!" I exclaimed. He nodded modestly. James removed his shirt and I did the same with my cover-up and Lydias cover up. She sat patiently as I covered her with sunscreen, not wanting her to burn. Me and Lydia shared cheerios while James ran into the water with his surfboard. Lydia was intently watching James when she suddenly turned to me. She looked up, her bright blue eyes beaming."Pretty." She said, repeadidly pointing at me. "Thank you Lydia." I said, surprised, this was the first iI've heard her speak. She grinned at me which made her pacifier fall onto the blanket. She looked upset so I quickly improvised "Water?" I asked, that was all it took for her to grab my hand and pull me down to the water. James threw his surfboard aside and we all splashed playfully for awhile until Lydia yawned. "Sleepy?" James smiled at her. Lydia shook her head no but proceeded back to the blanket and laid down "God she's stubborn, I've known her since she was born and she won't say a single word to me." James complained. I smiled to myself, Lydia had talked to me. But that was mine and Lydia's secret. We ended up getting home around 5, just in time for dinner. We ate quickly and then put Lydia to sleep. By that time it was only 7 but I went to bed. I had to wake up early so James could drive me to college, ugh I'd forgotton all day but now I was getting nervous again. The college was a good 4 hours away so we were going to get up early. I went into Lydias room and crawled into the bed next to her crib. "Night Callie." James whispered as he crept off to his room. "Night" I sighed.
