I know I don't have very many followers but I thought I would share this with you guys.

I haven't been on Witty in a very long time, the reason is because I was in a car accident, and was hospitalized.
My friend was driving me home from a swim meet at night. Out of nowhere we were struck by a drunk driver.
She broke her arm. I lost my leg.
But mostly.
I might not be able to swim, ever again.

Chapter #1
Beep Beep Beep
My alarm clock looked fuzzy but quickly became visible. I stalled getting out of bed, the cold hardwood floor made my feet tingle. Just then I heard a knock on my door and my Mom’s face appeared.
“Rise and shine sweetheart, swim practice in 15 minutes.”
She slowly shut the door as if she didn’t want to hurt it. I quickly grabbed my swim bag and put on my practice suit, as I walked down the stairs my Mom handed me a warm bagel to eat in the car I flashed a smile at her.
“Thanks Mom.” I sighed.
“You’re welcome Katie, have you seen your father this morning?” She asked rather worried.
“No, why Mom?” I questioned her.
“Oh he just has an appointment.” She asked trying to end the conversation.
“An appointment where, does it have to do with his eyes?” I asked inching forward to her.
“Listen Katie, it doesn’t effect you go to swim practice” She demanded slamming her fist down on the counter top.
There was a long silence between us.
“Not until you tell me where Dad’s appointment is.” I said sternly.
A half smile stretched across her face,
“You always were a determined girl Kate…” My Mom said jotting something down.
“I know…” I said back taking the paper she was offering me.
I quickly left the kitchen and went to my car leaving the bagel on the counter.

One Stroke At a Time
Prologue
2012 Olympics, London. That is my goal, all I need is a qualifying
time in my freestyle event and I can go to the trials.
I grew up swimming competitively it is all I ever wanted to do, and
this is my chance. Swimming trials open up in exactly six months.
Six months.
I only have six months to drop twelve seconds off my 100m. freestyle I’ve been training so hard for this, there is no turning back.
I will be in the olympics. I just need to take things,

swimming... because I can actually relate to it:)

I looked at the screen of my phone..
BLAKE JOHNSTON
My heart skipped a beat, come on don’t laugh I am a girl in love, but why would he be calling me? Shouldn’t I be calling him? I quickly fixed my hair behind my hair and brought the phone to my ear.
“Hello?” I said shaky.
“Hey Natalie” Blake’s voice made me weak in knees.
“Oh hey, I totally forgot I gave you my number what’s up?” I was lying.. I wanted him to call me so badly but I thought I should call him.
“Well, umm I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out tomorrow my place maybe? You could ride with me if you wanted?”
“I would love to!” My voice rang.
“Cool, I see ya’ tomorrow..”
He hung up. I could barely contain my excitement, I sprinted the rest of the way home. I raced up the stairs to my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I let out a yelp of excitement! I couldn’t believe this was really happening the cutest junior was inviting ME over, a FRESHMAN!
I walked over to my closet to look for something to wear tomorrow for Blake. Then it struck me that my freshman clothes weren’t going to cut I had to look more mature. I took out my phone and dialed up my best friend Meghan.
“Hey girl!” She answered.
“Meghan! I have a “date” with Blake tomorrow! I have to find something to wear and I have nothing!” I squealed.
“Okay lets go to the mall at about 3:00 meet me out front!”
“Thanks Meghan bye!”
I couldn’t wait! I raced down the stairs to my Mom to get her to drive me to the Mall. She hesitated but I told her I was going “job hunting”
What? Don’t give me that look… She would NEVER let me buy clothing without her there ever! I had to lie just this once.
My Mom kissed me on the forehead and let me out of the car, I met up with Meghan outside of a Starbucks. I told her how I needed more mature looking clothing. She convinced me to go to Hollister, I purchased some short cut off jean shorts, and a tight black and red V-neck then we went to Victoria secret and bought a Pink lace bra.
Alright it didn’t feel right, but was I supposed to do? Look stupid in front of Blake?
I can’t afford to mess this up..

“I just don’t know if he likes me back…”
I sat cross-legged on his bed across from Jared. Jared has been my best friend since I can remember. I looked into his brown eyes.
“He probably does, every guy has a crush on you.”His words rang in my mind.
“You really think so?” I hesitated to look back at him.I got up softly trying not to make any noise that his mom could possible hear. My eye quickly caught a picture on his desk.
“Who’s this?” I asked.
“Uhhh…” he stuttered.
“Nobody.”
“Nobody is pretty cute.” I mumbled picking up the photo.
Her hair was blonde, tall, big chest, small waist, and rose red lips.
“Put that down Natalie..” Jared ordered.
“Make me.” I giggled.
“Okay then…” Jared said with a smirk.
His foot made a thump on the ground attempting to chase me,
“Put it down Natie!”
“Gotta catch me!” I said playfully running around his room with my long hair in my face.
Suddenly I had a flash back…
We were both eight years old playing tag in my front yard, his little hands trying to grab my hair while he was chasing me,“Come in side Jared! His Mom yelled panicked. It was the night his brother died… I remembered that night so well. --
Suddenly I felt a jolt on my hips.
“Gotcha’!” Jared whispered in my ear picking me up off his bed.
“You always were a stubborn one.” He smiled at me
“Thanks, but uhhh… I think I better go… I’m going to try to call Blake about that date.
”He set me down slowly…“Oh okay.” He quietly said.
I made my way to his window and lowered myself down to his balcony and crawled to his front porch…I turned around waving goodbye to him. Jared mouthed something that I couldn’t quite make out. I walked across the street in my flip-flops clacking behind me to my house when my phone rang…

So there's this boy, lets call him Dog... So recently at a assembley Dog told his friends he liked me. And a little later that day people were asking me "Has Dog asked you out??" and crap like that. Then the next day I found out he only likes me for my body. I was horrified. After I got back from school I got a text from a boy I used to like it said "Don't listen to Dog, hes a d*uche, He told me he was going to make you fall in love with him so when he asks you out you'll say yes. I told him you were a sweet, perfect girl and you don't deserve to be used like that. " I felt so warm and fuzzy after reading that. Then the boy I used to like "Cat" told me he liked me. And believe it or not my best guy friend Hampster from second grade told me he liked me ever since then. Finally today Dog went around telling everyone my best friends Carlie took her shirt off to get him to kiss her (his friend told me he wanted to get me jealous).
I have no idea what to do.. help?
