Growing
Up
It’s not something that we
want to do,
but let’s face it. We have to do
it. The thought of growing up is scary. It's hard to believe that
I'm the same person I was 10 years ago. As a little
kid, I always wanted to be older. I
don’t really remember why. Maybe it was because I
wanted to be able to stay up until midnight or watch those
PG-13 movies or go on dates with a boy of my dreams.
I watch the little girls across the street ride their
bicycles up and down the
sidewalk, and I think of myself. I remember how the days
seemed so long and how summer seemed to last
forever. I remember playing with my Barbie
dolls and dressing up on Easter Sunday in
a beautiful dress and a bonnet. Those days seemed so
easy. I felt like I had
the world figured out. Now, I realize that I don’t
have a clue who I am or what my purpose in life is. But as
I grow up, I will figure that out. Everyone always says that
they wish they could go back in time
and be a kid again. As funny as it sounds, I
don’t. Going back in time would mean loosing
everything that I worked so hard for. I would have
to start over. All those tears I
cried, nights studying my butt off for a test the next day,
and all the lessons I learned, would be gone. As we grow up,
things are going to get harder.
But I think I’m ready
for
that

I made before had ugly colors. I decided to
fix it up.
