I would just contact them and if they don't seem enthusiastic just drop it.

Thanks. It's just a difficult decision.It wouldn't affect my life if they decide not to be in my life, because they haven't been in my life. But it would be great if they chose to be in my life.

When I was really little i met them. And they talked to my aunt, to check up on me. (That ended when I was 7 or 8). But I have only met them once, and talked to them the one time i met them.

I'd say go for it then. Granted they may not respond but you did everything you could to reach out to them and create a new friendship.
