Mike is in the same situation I was in. I know he wants to sit by
his friends and all the other seats near them are taken. All the
seats, except mine. “Mike, over here” I call him over
and I move to the inside seat by the window. He looks at me, and
then he sits down the seat. I didn’t think he would
actually sit! I don’t know how to react because I was just
being nice and he doesn’t look like the kind of kid who
would actually sit down…next to me; of all people he chose
me! This thing would only happen in a dream! The first thing I do
is text Claire. She is freaking out and so am I. I don’t
like him that way, Claire does. I would totally be fine with this
but this is my best friend’s crush. The last thing I want
to do is lead him on. The only thing on my mind is to convince
Mike to go out with Claire. We start to freak out. I reassure her
that I will do that and only that. She tells me she will kill me
if I do anything else; if I try anything else, she said she would
have my head on a silver platter. That makes me laugh and Mike
looks at me and smiles. I just smile and look away. Our chaperone
gets on the bus and sits in a seat close to where we are all
sitting. He sits in a seat a row in front of where Charlie is
sitting. Charlie is sitting with his best friend Johnny. Johnny
is in another group. Mr. Wes starts to take attendance.
“Isaac Bunker?” he calls “Present” Isaac
says. “Jack?” “Gift!” Jack smirks.
Everyone giggles at the joke. This is why I am totally head over
heels about Jack. Not only is he good looking, he has a great
sense of humor. “Clara Janis?” “Hi” she
says “Rachel Janoski” “Morning!” she
smiles “Morning smiley” Mr. Wes smiles back.
“Safari Jones?”
