Hit and Run
chapter 3
"Ella!" I
yelled when I got out of the building. I saw her and Paige up in
the top of a tree. I sighed with relief. I ran over to them and
climbed to the top.
"Klisty! What's happening?" Paige asked.
"Well... A video game sorta came to life." I answered. We
were all silent for a minute.
"We have to get home. Paige I think Kelsey is at your house.
They don't have school today." I said.
"Ok." Said Ella, "Here's the plan. We're all
going to get some malay weapons and split up to go to our houses.
Who has watch?" We all raised our hands.
Since Paige is the Track star we had her go down and be a
distraction so Ella and I could get some weapons. We were going to
the baseball field to get bats. As soon as the hella zombies
were distracted by Paige, we sprinted to the field. We found a
whole sack of them. We got some out and took the sack. I've
watched all of the zombie tv shows and movies. We need all the
weapons we can get.
When we got back to Paige she was called on the ground. The
zombies staggered toward her and she kept moving backwards to get
away. I'd never seen her so scared.
"Ella, you go home! I'll help Paige and we'll all go
to our houses. Meet at the gas station where the boys pick us up at
2:00pm!" I said. Ella nodded and ran off.
I sprinted over to Paige and started whacking the zombies. I've
always been good at baseball. And I am great at hitting. I swung at
a zombie' s head and it rolled right off. Once I killed the
zombies I helped Paige up and gave her some bats. Kelsey is my 12
year old sister. She's best friends with Paige' s little
sister, Taylor.
"If you find your family explain everything and give
them a bat. Meet at the gas station where the boys usually pick us
up." I said then we went our separate ways.
My house should be a great place to hid during this.
It was built to hold up in the strongest tornado winds. We have
stashes of food in the basement. We also have a huge gun collection
in there.
I'm worried sick about my parents and Kelsey. About Paige
and her family. Her mom just got re-married. My mom and Paige's
mom are besties. They have been since high school.
What about the kids at my mom's daycare? I hope
their parents came for them because I don't want to be in a
zombie apocalypse with screaming little kids.
This is just so sudden. Just a few days ago I met this cute
guy at karate. His name is Bryce. He was going to be the
assistant. He's 18. Not quite a year older than me. I'm
turning 18 in 2 months. My truck broke down and Bryce fixed it. I
gave him my number, and he gave me his so I could call him when I
got home. I wonder where he is now.
