Please read this,I need your advice.It will help me a lot.


I have been in treatment at the Teen Health Center for the past year or so and it hasn't really been helping me at all. I am having a really hard time coping with everything lately, even the littlest things. and I have realised.. I need help. On Febuary 20th I have an appointment with my pysciatrist to maybe get anti depressants, but the problem is my mom keeps saying she will not get them for me, because this is just a phase. me harming myself is just a phase. this depression is just a phase. this eating disorder is just a phase. Anyways, I met a friend this year who went through all the same stuff as I do now last year (except the ED). and she went to the Teen Health Center as well and they didn't help her. Then she started telling me about how she went to Brentwood to get help and thats how she recovered. She is now recovered from self harm, drug addiction and alcohol addiction. I'm proud of her♥. I was thinking about after my next appointment with my pysciatrist I will sign up and maybe start going to group sessions at Brent wood and talk to a counsellor there. They helped my friend, so hey. they might help me too. She was in the same position as I am now.. now look shes helping me to recover.

 
Should I go try at Brentwood? the Teen Health Center hasn't helped.

yes omg you should totally go!! i've been through this too and my mom said the same thing but honestly you just need someone to vent to about everything! Helping yourself is better than nobody trying to help you at all.

i think brentwood would be good. you should try to tell your mom its not a phase and if she wont listen to you, have her talk to your psychiatrist.

I am gonna go to Brentwood, I might call tomorrow, or sometime soon. & my psyciatrist & doctor who have diagnosed me with depression both told her its not a phase and she told them both they're wrong and this it is a phase.

im sorry your mom thinks that. she may be going through denial. she might eventually accept but if not at least you are doing what needs to be done. good luck

I'd go to the place where your friend went it sounds alot better than where you are, even just the name sounds more welcoming.& If you ever need someone to tlk to I'm here <3

my mom has no say. she doesn't care about any of it so I dont care what she thinks. Im helping myself, and she's never tried helping me.
