I agree VV but it also could possibly mean that she learned how to hurt, or get away from, someone before they got the chance to hurt her.

The only thing I can think of when I read this is that It means that she learned to get back at the person who hurt her.... I'm not 100% tho.. That's just my take

my first thought as well. thing is that actually didnt happen, as much as it makes sense with the lyrics it doesnt add up with the situation :/
