Steven Golding; father of one, husband of two. As if that wasn’t enough already! In court, all of the evidence pointed to him, he was found guilty of murder of a boy of seven years named Carter Venace. The real danger about this guy, is that he has a kid who he’s fairly close to. She is safe, but that’s not the problem. They were close, but her mother was the one to turn Steve in. Steve shared everything with his child, and she must not have wanted to turn him in. Could she be a helper? Partner in crime? 

 I stopped reading, this was ridiculous. Shawna, a criminal? What? I looked at Shawna, she was obviously embarrassed, gazing down at her feet, arms crossed. I scowled at The Falls and I threw it in the trashcan nearby solemnly. I really shouldn’t have invaded Shawna’s business. She looked at me, stunned, and I pulled her into a hug. She tensed for a second, but when she realized someone was comforting her, she hugged me back. We sat in silence for the rest of the lunch/break, each lost in their own thoughts.

  Now, I felt like I had finally ‘cracked the code’ of Shawna Golding. We now shared a bond, a promise that I was never going to break. At least not anytime soon, anyways.
