Ask him what you can do to help him
Draw a butterfly on him (butterfly project)
Be there for him when he needs you
Listen, actually pay attention to him when he tells you something
Never make negative comments
Don't over react, no matter what, just respond calmly
Don't make him do anything
and know he might not be ready to stop
He'll have to figure out a lot of things on his own so simply being there for him and listening to him is the best thing you can do

It may take a while, just make sure he knows he has your support
It could be a while before he stops completely
I stopped, but I did again last night
little things will trigger and test him, make sure you're always there for him, show him that you care,
without that he won't have a reason to try to stop

i told myself to get it together, because there is my only friend that would fall apart if i committed. and thats how i keep myself going. knowing that if i committed, her whole world would come crashing. and all of the weight she was carrying would fall on her and maybe she would never be able to get up.

Basicly all my friends did was tell me that I shouldn't cut and they would tell me what i had in life that was good they would always tell me its okay and they would confort me the rest has to be up to the person to be stronger enough to stop
