Well i think you mean "formats" by borders. And im noot very good at making formats so what i do is i scroll over a quote, copy it and past it into "add a quote" then i just delete the text in it (not the format) and type in my quote (: but dont forget to add 'nmf' (not my format)

Welcome to witty, friend!
Try not to make too many quotes at one time, a lot of the time I get annoyed when people I follow do that. Then again, that might just be a 'me' thing.
Only follow people whose quotes you really, truly like. If you just follow tons of people, then some really good quotes might get lost in a sea of mediocre ones. It might be harder to gain followers when you do this, but the point of witty isn't to get followers. It's to read the thoughts and ideals of others (be they wittians or famous people the wittian is quoting), as well as share some of your own.
Like it's been stated before, no jocking.
Don't be afraid to post your opinion, as long as you're not being really mean about it. Wittians are usually quite accepting of each others views, though sometimes people will get angry, but arguing is just human nature.
To make a quote look all pretty, you can go to the help page (a link to it is at the top, next to chat and the various social networking site links) and copy-paste them into the source part of 'Add a Quote'. If you use Chrome or Firefox (not sure about Internet Explorer, but the last time I used it, this didn't work), you can add shadows by using this code: <span style="text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px black;">
You can change the numbers as you see fit, the first number is how far to the right the shadow is (you can put a negative number in to make the shadow go to the left), the second number is how far down the shadow is (negative number will make the shadow go up), and the third number is how big the shadow is (negative numbers don't affect it).
You can also type in different colors where it says black (this works for everything, including borders and backgrounds). On the help page it shows a pretty big variety of colors you can put in, if you'd rather not go into the codes for the colors.
There may be more that I'm neglecting to state, but that seems to cover a bit...
