Chapter One-

I’m tired when I get up. I notice it’s late, too. I have to go to school again. I’m unable to trust even my best friend, but she doesn’t need to know that. I don’t want her to judge me for anything. I’ll lose her. And she’s almost all I got. My father left us after my mother died, so now I’m stuck with my twenty year old brother who never helps with my little sister, Lilli.

I get ready to leave when I get a text. Then I notice it’s just Malcolm.
