Married in High School? - Chapter Eighteen

"First stop is Abigail's room. She's a sweetheart, I'll go in, and then I'll introduce you, so hold on a sec," he said, walking inside the door, and closing it behind him. I looked around the deserted hallway, the nurse's desk on this floor was down the hall. My breath started to quicken and I felt butterflies in my chest. I felt my pockets for my phone, to distract myself, but I kicked myself when I remembered I had left it in the car. What was taking Jesse so long? I should have told him I wasn't going in, this wasn't my thing. Now I'm left here having a panic attack over a empty hallway.

I leaned against the wall, trying to let my mind wander. But of course what came up was what if there were ghosts in this hallway that I couldn't see. I suddenly felt colder, and I hugged my cardigan closer to my body. Wait...isn't that a sign of a ghost? The tempature suddenly dropping?! Ohmygod, I'm going to get possessed and become all psycho and then I'm going to have to get an exorcism and...

"Hey, you can...are you okay?" Jesse asked, poking his head through the crack in the door.

"Yeah, just a little cold." I said, trying to act normal.

"Well you're standing under an aircondition vent," he said, and I looked up, and he was right. So I wasn't being possessed.

I laughed, trying to play it off cool," Oh right, that would be why I'm cold," he must think I'm a basket case, whatever I don't care. I followed Jesse in, to see an elderly woman sitting in a chair by the window. "Hi Abigail," I said, sitting down across from her. "I'm Olivia," I held out my hand as a peace offering of sorts.

She took my hand and patted it gently. "Olivia, that's a nice name. How are you dear?"

"I'm good, how are you?" I said, wondering why she was still holding my hand.

"Oh I'm fine, just fine." She said closing her eyes, my hand wrapped tightly in hers. I looked at Jesse, wondering what was going on. He was removing dead flowers from vase and putting new ones in. "I can tell you don't like it here, lots of nervous energy." She said suddenly, "And you've had a lot of pent up emotions lately. You need to let those out." Her face wrinkled in deep thought before she smiled and opened her eyes. "You're on the right track Olivia, keep faith in yourself." She finally let go of my hand and sat back.

"Um...thank you?" I stammered, not knowing how to reply.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, Abigail is a psychic. She reads your energy. Ready to go?" Jesse said, walking over to the window where we sat.

"So soon?" She said, disappointment on her face. "I really like the company." The old woman looked at Jesse sadly.

"Sorry Abby, we have to go now, but we will be back on Saturday for a longer visit," she smiled at that, and thanking her for her impromptu reading, we left.

That was an interesting chapter! Feedback? Sorry about the delay, my mum shut the wifi off until I finished my summer reading -.- I have to work tomorrow during the day, but another chapter tomorrow night?
