I seriously need help //:

I've been talking to this guy for a while, we used to date in highschool and he has always been faithful, i've just been stupid.. anyways.. he left for college today and he kept asking me out before he left, I didn't want to "tie" him down because all of the college life is a new experience.. We agreed to wait a few weeks and see how it goes, I should trust him, right?? This is the right thing?? How do I make the distance work??
