Its Friday, and everyone at school is buzzing about their
weekend plans. My now, one and only friend, was complaining
about having to babysit her cousin.
"What about you, Haley?" She asked.
I thought about my answer hard.
"Uh-same old same old. Just sitting at home." I
left out the part about probably being molested by my
father and hit by my mother. She doesn't need to know
all of that.
"Hal, you have to do some-" As if right on cue,
Kyle walked over towards us.
"Oh my god, those eyes." I whispered to
myself.
"What was that, Haley?"
"Nothing, nothing." I giggled.
"OH!" Aleeah said loudly. Kyle looked down and
laughed.
His laugh was adorable. And those eyes-oh my gosh. They
were gorgeous. They were enchanting.
Aleeah took the hint and pranced away joyfully. I remember
when I was that happy.
"Hey Haley." Kyle grinned.
"Hey! What's up?" I asked, blushing.
"Well, nothing. I was wondering if we could change
that, and maybe go out for lunch tomorrow?" Kyle asked
confidently. I felt my cheeks getting warm as I thought of
an excuse to get out of the house.
"Sure, I'll meet you at Cabella's at
one."
"Yeah, sure." He said.
"Ok." I said.
He went to walk away but turned back around pointing his
finger at me.
"You do know, that this isn't supposed to just be
a friendly meeting right?" He asked.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Look, when I layed eyes on you, you just blew me
away. There's something about you. This isn't just
two people hanging out, this is a date." He said.
"Are you sure you arent confusing me for someone else?
Like, Aleeah, she looks a bit like me." I said
quickly, joining my words together.
"I'm positive. So, are you still on for the
date?" He asked shyly.
I thought about it. If my dad found out I was going on a
date I would surely be dead.
"Yeah, sure." I smiled at him.
"Ok, good." He then walked away, leaving me with
a grin.
I smiled, this was my
first date.
