11
I saw Miley, my best friend, and Eli,
my ex, together holding hands, giggling. My heart
sank. I walked over to them.
"Miley? Eli? What are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"Hey Len! Eli and I are on vacation," She said.
"You're also holding hands," I told her.
"Yeah we're umm dating," She said in almost a
whisper.
I started at them heart broken.
"Lennon, come here!" Jared said. "Who's
this?"
"Jared this is Eli, my ex boyfriend, and this is Miley, she
was my bestfriend," I said.
They all stared at me like I was under inspection. A tear rolled
down my cheek.
"Le-" Miley began.
"Save it Miley! We're strangers now," I told her.
I ran away and sat down. I put the sand in hand and let it fall. My
hands turned dirty. Jared came to sit by me.
"How could she do this to me? Don't get me wrong Jared, I
love you but he's my ex. Do you understand?" I asked.
"Lennon, I get it. This is hard for you. I'm not mad, I
promise," He told me.
I kissed him.
"You know what? I'm going to forget this ever
happened," I told him.
"Good," He said.
"Oh I told my Mom and Dad that I have a boyfriend now so they
want to meet you! They're coming tomorrow," I said.
"Wow that's great! They're coming all they way to
Florida just to meet me?" He asked.
"They're really protective," I told him.
"Especially, my Dad."
"I get it, you're Daddy's little girl," he said
while smiling.
I smiled back and he kissed me. After it got dark, I went home. I
walked upstairs to my room and shut the light off. I laid down in
my bed. I couldn't stop thinking about tomorrow night.
