I must have fallen asleep on the
couch because when I wake up, it's 10 in the morning and
Tara is getting home. "Sidney, I heard about Tyler!
I'm so sorry!" she runs through the door, throwing her
bags on the floor and hugs me. "What happened to
Tyler?" my mom asks as she walks into the room. "He
was driving home the other night and drove his car into the
river. He's okay, he just has a broken arm and leg and is
on suicide watch." my mom then tells Tara to sit down
beside me.
"Girls, you know how you
have 2 weeks off for break?" we nod and she continues.
"Well, David, the guy I went out with last night, invited
us to go to his beach house in Florida with him and his two
daughters." I hope we're not going, she doesn't
even know the man! I mean I wouldn't mind spending my break
on the beach, but he could be a rapist or something. "Are
we going?" I quietly ask. "Yes. We're leaving
tonight and staying for a week and a half. He's a very
nice man. He has a daughter Tara's age, and your age
Sid." Tara seems to be more excited than I am, because she
yells with enthusiasm. I grunt then say "So we need to get
packed?" "Yes. We're leaving here at six and
meeting them at their house."
I'm not sure what to pack,
I've never been to the beach. I first pack the essentials,
then grab a couple tank tops, short shorts, my new bikini and
other stuff. I go to see how Tara is doing, which must be fine
because she's running through the house yelling.
