Chapter
twelve.
Everytime i heard Lauren's voice, i
hated her more. She talked about how perfect her life was, and
how perfect her house was, and how rich she was, she was more
annoying than me. & thats annoying! Lauren looked around,
"Oooh," She said and pointed to Ethan, "He's
a cutie, who is he?" She asked me, checking him out. I
gritted my teeth, "My boyfriend." I spat. She looked
at me and mouthed the word 'Oh'. I gave her a fake
smile, "Well, i'm going to go now." I said, and
left before she could even respond. I walked over to Ethan.
"Hey." I said with a smile. He smiled at me,
"Hey beautiful." I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Wanna go in the lake?" I asked, looking at it. He
shrugged, "Sure, lets go." I smiled, and stripped
down my clothes until i was in my bathing suit. I walked over
with Ethan, and dipped my feet in, then quickly took them out.
"It's cold!" I exclaimed. Ethan chuckled and
jumped right in, splashing me. I squealed. He laughed, and
pulled my feet. "You coming in?" He asked. I smiled,
and put my legs in. "This is as far as i'm
going." i said, coughing a little bit. "You
okay?" he asked, standing next to me. I nodded, and
coughed the different way from Ethan's face. "Do you
wanna get out?" He asked, holding my hand. I shook my
head, "No, no." I said, "I'm fine." I
kissed Ethan's lips. He smiled, "Want something to
eat?" He asked. I shook my head, and looked at a group of
Ethan's friends playing football, then looked back at
Ethen. "I'm fine, Ethan," I said, "Go play
football with the guys, i'll stay here with Jenna." I
said with a smile. He smiled, "You sure?" He asked. I
nodded, "I'm sure." He pecked my lips and than
swam over to his friends. I turned to the group of girls next
to me, "Hey guys." I said, with a weak smile. Jenna
smiled at me and rubbed my arm, "You okay, girl?" She
asked. I nodded, "I'm fine." I lied. Jenna smiled
again, "So how is you and Ethan?" She asked. I looked
over at Ali, who was looking down at the water, and felt bad.
"We're good." I said, quietly to Jenna. Amy came
over to me, "Hey!" She said and gave me a hug, i
hugged her back. "Hey." I said. "You okay? You
seem out of it a little?" She asked. I nodded,
"I'm fine!" I said with a small giggle. She
smiled, "You know what i've realized," She said,
"We haven't hung out at all this summer!" She
exclaimed. I laughed, "Yeah," I said,
"That's weird." I looked over at Ethan, who was
playing football and having fun. "We should deffinately
hang ou-" She said but i cutt her off, "Yes, we
should." I said, "But right now i really have to get
out." I said, trying to get out of the cold water, it was
way too cold for me. "Hey, Lucy!" One of the girls,
Mona said to me. I waved, "Hi." She frowned,
"You okay? You look reaally pale." She said, looking
at me weird. "Yes!" I exclaimed, "I'm
fine." I said, and looked for the nearest ladder or
staircase to get out of the water. The nearest one was across
the lake. I sighed, and started to swim across, ignoring the
hello's that i got. "Damnit." I mumbled. I was
swimming too slow above water, so i prayed for a second, and
held my breath, and attempted to swim across. When i ran out of
breath, i came up, choking on water, my arms tired of swimming.
I looked for the ladder, i was feets away. I coughed some more,
and swam more underwater, until i felt the ladder, i came above
the water and quickly got out, shaking from how cold i was, and
choking because i couldn't breath. I looked for where my
bag was, or where Ethan was, i spotted my bag and started to
run for it. I needed my inhaler, i couldn't breath and the
running wasn't helping. I suddenly stopped, and felt the
whole world spinning, i was dizzy. I felt like i was going to
die. I dropped to the ground, my arm keeping me up, coughing.
"Lucy!" Someone exclaimed, and swam after me.
"Lucy!" I heard all around. "You okay,
Lucy!?" I heard. I coughed some more, my vision getting
very blurry. I would've blacked out, but i felt cold hands
touch my sides and lift me up, then put the inhaler in my
mouth, pressing the button for air. I inhaled it, breathing
again. I opened my eyes, and once again, my hero, Ethan has
saved me.
