Words Will Be Just Words

Chapter 3

I sat in Niall’s lap with my head on his chest, I felt his hand squeeze my arm. “You all right love?” “Yep, I’m just so happy that you’re here.” I replied smiling up at him. “You look gorgeous tonight Sharla, you really do,” Niall said as he played with my hair.

“JUST KEEP SWIMMING! JUST KEEP SWIMMING! JUST KEEP SWI-” Skylar yelled out, which scared the living day lights out of me, so I interrupted her to make her stop.

“Ah now you see lads, she does this every time we watch this film. Sky, sit yourself down before you embarrass yourself anymore.” I said to Skylar firm, but sweetly.

“I think it’s cute,” Louis said to us, but looking at Skylar.

“Awwh! Thanks Lou,” Skylar said to him, smiling.

Okay, there was something going on. It must have had something to do with that note Louis wrote in her phone. I wanted to read it, but I don’t want to invade her privacy between herself and Lou. Oh well, I just had to shake it off. I just had to enjoy that my best friend was here, and that he was here just to see me. I sat down next to Niall again, he had his arms open, ready for me to come in to them again. “I know I’ve told you this A LOT, but I missed you so much while I was on tour. A day didn’t go by without me think about you at least once.” Niall said to me.

I could feel my face getting hot as I blushed uncontrollably. It felt like the butterflies in my stomach we’re multiplying by the seconds. “I missed you too Niall, more than anyone could ever imagine. I’m sad that you’re not here with me everyday anymore, but I’m so happy for you and how far you’ve gotten. My happiness for you is more than words can ever describe!”

“Thank you Sharla,” Niall said, as he started to blush when he smiled at me. He leaned in and kissed the top of my nose and hugged me during the rest of the film. I was so happy.

After the movie was over, Harry jumped up and screamed, “Lets play truth or dare!” 

“Good lad!” Louis said obviously agreeing with him.

“Right, well Lou since you agreed with me, I dare you to kiss.. erm.. Skylar!”  Harry dared.

“Well if it okay with Skylar,” Louis said looking over at Skylar.

“Well, it was a dare wasn’t it?” Skylar said flirtatiously to Louis. Louis stood up and grabbed Skylar by the hand, pulling her up off the couch with him. He pulled her in and kissed her passionately. When they pulled away, Zayn was the first one to cheer, and all the other boys joined in. Clapping and cheering filled the room. 

Louis spoke up, “Right, I think I’ll choose.... Niall! Niall I dare you to tell Sharla about how you really feel.” Silence broke out in the room. Niall looked at Louis and then looked at me. I gave Niall a loving smile, trying to tell him that it was okay to tell me and that I would understand. 

Niall suddenly spoke, “I- I need to go outside for a moment.” Niall said excusing himself.

“Well, I wasn’t expecting that,” Louis sighed.

I went outside and I found Niall sitting on the porch swing. I sat next to him for a minute. “Niall-”

I started. “I’m so sorry about what Lou said in there,” Niall said. “You know what Niall, it’s okay. Please don’t worry about that. Just please, I don’t want to pretend that this never happened and we just go on pretending that we don’t feel the way we do about each other.” I said, almost crying.

“Each other?” Niall asked with a half smile.

“Yes, Niall, each other!” I said as I hugged Niall.
