Chapter 1
“Time for school!” my mother says as I finish
straightening the last strand of my hair.
Ah yes, another year of school that I know I won’t
fully go through. Going to a new
School wasn’t really a new thing for me. With my dad being
a Project Manager we seem
To move around a lot because of his job, but no matter how many
times we seem to move,
I get more nervous every year. I am the type that is very shy and
socially awkward but every year
I seem to make friends very quickly. I guess you can say
I’m like Bella Swan from that Twilight Saga series, which I
don’t see why everyone is so in love with.
“I’m leaving mom!” I said as I run out the door
hoping she wouldn’t stop me and talk to me abo—
“Wait right there young lady!” I spoke too soon,
“I got to go mom, I’ll be late! Love you!”
Every year I go to a new school she always tells me how I am
going to meet new friends and hope that I have a great day, and
its super annoying but she just feels bad for me since I have to
move all the time, but that’s not my fault. I wish I could
stay in one place forever and not have to worry about me not
getting way to attached to people I know I won’t know for
long.
The new school I go to is called, “West Fort High
School”. Probably the most decent one I have been too
yet. As I walk through the front doors of the school I am
automatically greeted by a girl who acts like she just had 6
Monsters. “Hi! My name is Stacey Jewl! You must be
Adrienne!” I smile at her even though I am dying to get
away from her. “I know you are going to love it here at
West Fort High! Do you have your schedule?” I handed her
the schedule hoping I didn’t hear tha--, “Oh my gosh!
We have History and Chemistry together! We are going to be great
friends! You should totally come to the school bon fire tonight!
Everyone is going to be there!” The more she kept on
talking the more I kept on spacing out.
I finally got away from Stacey when I lied and told her I had to
go to the office to check up on something.
Looking at my schedule and trying to find the FACS room, I was
rudely bumped into. “Hey watch it!” I said.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention”,
obviously he wasn’t, but all of my anger went away when I
saw his face. He was gorgeous. I felt automatic butterflies
appear in my stomach and I felt my cheeks getting red.
“It’s perfectly okay, I wasn’t paying attention
either, and by any chance do you know where the FACS room is? I
am new here and I don’t know anything about this
school.” I felt like I was just talking and talking and
then I felt my face get even redder. “Yea sure it’s
just right down the hall”. “Thanks”, I said
trying not to embarrass myself more than I already have.
“Well it was nice meeting you..?”,
“Adrienne… Adrienne Caldron. Yours?”
“Spencer... Spencer Gates... I’ll see you around
sometime.” As he walked away I felt light headed. I could
already tell It was going to be hard to move again.
