SIX
- H o l l y ' s P o i n t o f V i e w

I could hear Hannah’s
feet dragging behind me in the sand, but i didn’t
bother waiting for her to keep up. From the looks of it,
there were six people playing volleyball in the sand, three
boys and three girls.
I kept my eyes locked on one boy as my feet skidded through
the sand. He had bleach blonde hair, short, but long enough
to still be messed up, somehow still looking perfect even
when it was sticking in all directions. He was tan, maybe
even tanner than me, and was wearing nothing but black and
white swim trunks, showcasing his perfect six pack.
When i finally made it to the cluster of teens, reluctantly
waiting for Hannah to catch up so i could introduce her to
the group, they all looked over at me, studying me carefully
like they had never seen a stranger before in their lives. I
assumed that they hadn’t.
Five of them were playing volleyball, two boys on a team
against two girls and a boy, while one of the girls sat in
the sand, watching them.
All of them were looking at me still, something i
didn’t mind much since i had grown used to it, and
loved the attention. When Hannah approached us i opened my
mouth to talk, twisting my hair around my long blonde hair
for effect.
“hey, guys, i’m Holly and this is my twin sister
Hannah, we’re kind of new and we will be staying here
for the summer, so we just wanted to come meet some
neighbors,” i smiled brightly, glancing back at the
blonde boy.
A boy with short brown hair and tan answered me, gazing at me
with chocolate brown eyes. “I’m Logan,” he
smiled back, gesturing to himself. “This is
Cole,” he explained, pointing to his volleyball
partner, the blonde one. “that’s Harper,”
he pointed to a bubbly redhead with a million freckles
crowding her face, then a pale, dark haired girl who he
called Jane, and a boy next to her with shaggy brown hair and
pale, freckled skin, named Richard. “and that’s
Allie,” he told me, pointing out the girl sitting on
the sidelines with short, blonde hair and piercing blue
eyes.
“hi guys,” Hannah smiled, waving. i just nodded,
absentmindedly kicking my feet in the ground until my sandals
were filled with small grains of sand.
“umm.. do you guys want to join our game?” Cole
offered, looking at Hannah, then me, with a quizzical
expression. i caught Hannah peeking over at Logan, the one
that had introduced me to everyone, while he served the
yellow and white striped ball over the net and on to the
other side, gaining a point for his team.
“sure, i’ll play,” i grinned, eager to show
off my volleyball skills, since i had been the captain of the
varsity volleyball team at my school three years running.
“nah, i’m fine,” Hannah replied shyly,
probably embarrassed at her lack of athleticism. i joined
Cole and Logan’s team, evening out the sides so they
each had three players. Hannah sat down next to Allie in the
sand, making easy conversation.
I could feel Cole watching me as i hit the ball over the net,
falling to the ground before the other team even had time to
react. Cole whistled behind me, and i wasn’t sure if it
was for my playing or my looks, but either way made me
happy.
Maybe getting a new boyfriend here wouldn’t be that
hard, after all.
okay, are you guys
liking the story? i know this chapter was boring but the
introducing had to be done. if anyone has suggestions for
the next few chapters i'm open to new ideas(: thanks to
my dedicated readers, i notice the few people who fave my
chapters ever single time. seriously guys, you make me
smile. keep it up.
