Part Three

I sped home as fast as I could and crumbled into a fetal position as soon as I hit my bed.
Have you ever had your heart broken before? It's terrible.
I took a few seconds to wrap my mind around the fact that Noah - the love of my life, the boy I'd been crushing on since 6 th grade had finally loved me back, and now...it was all over. All the stupid inside jokes. The mornings I spent texting him instead of painting my face, because he insisted I was beautiful without it. The time very first time he told me he loved me. All. Over.
I couldn't breathe. I needed something to help pull me back to reality. I needed physical pain to distract me from my real pain. I tried to get up, but I couldn't. My knees gave out and I fell to the floor, unable to breathe. Unable to see. Unable to grasp reality.
A glimmer of light caught my eye; a pair of sisscors, right besides me.
Without thinking, I rolled up my sleeves and plunged the sharp edge of the blade into my skin, right above the fresh scars from the accident and old ones from before.
Broken, I etched into my skin, for how I felt.
