I woke
up to the sound of a doorbell. Could it be the
killer? Slowly, I walked over to the window and glanced
outside. There was a neatly wrapped, brown package lying
on the welcome mat.
"Sara," I whispered
loudly. "Wake up.
There's something by the door."
With that she quickly threw
off her covers and looked out the window. Confused,
she walked downstairs.
"Mom, dad?"
she yelled out. "They're not here.
Probably, already went to work."
"Should we just go outside
and take it?" I asked, nearing the door.
"Not in our
pajamas!"
I laughed and we ran back
upstairs. She let me change in her room, where
there was a much larger mirror, while she changed
in the bathroom. I opened my backpack then took out
a white tank top and denim vest.TAfter dumping out my
backpack, I finally found a pair of black,
high-waisted shorts and a pair of
navy Vans. To finsh off the outift, I tied a red
bandana in my hair to pull back my long, brown,
wavy hair.
Sara was sitting downstairs
in her living room, waiting for me.
"You take forever to change! I
finished ten minutes ago." she said
jokingly.
"No! Anyway, it
doesn't matter. Let's go get the package, then
quickly close the door and go back inside before someone has
the chance to grab us."
"Alright, let's do
this!" Sara said. Just as she was about to open the
door, I stopped her.
"What if it's a bomb?"
She chuckled, "It's not,
you really need to calm down."
Sara unlocked the door knob,
grabbed the brown package, and closed the door. As much as
I denied it, there was a possibilty it was a bomb.
We both walked over to her kitchen. The tiles were a
white, sandy color and gave the room a warm, sunny
feel.
Hesitating, I grabbed
a knife and ripped open
the package. Afterwards I untied the strings
and took the lid off the box. In it, was a small
note and some bubble wrap.
"Read it." Sara said.
I picked up the note, and read it
aloud. "Katy disappeard, can you guess who's next?
It's one of you, and theres only one thing you
can do. Find out my name, my place, my plan
then maybe you two still have a chance. Sincerely, Your
Worst Nightmare." Underneath these letters was a
splatter of blood.
