CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

-CALLIE'S POV-
"Callie, just come in, you'll be fine," Jake shouted to me over the crashing of waves behind him. I dipped my toe into the icy cold salt water, pulling it back immediatley.
"there's no way!" i told him, stepping back onto the wet sand behind me.
Jake gave me a sad face, floating in the water while he pulled his hair from his forehead. the bright July sun nearly blinded me, and i could feel the tan seeping into my skin as we spoke. I turned my attention back to Jake, who was still glaring at me, and crossed my arms, shaking my head.
He rolled his eyes, turning back around just as a huge wave crashed over him. I was glad i had turned down his offer, standing on the beach was much safer. I inspected my bright red bikini as i waited for him to resurface from the water.
i took the sunglasses off of my face, dropping them into Jake's cloth bag behind me. when i walked back to the edge of the water, feeling the small waves crash on my ankles, i felt something grab me by the leg.
I screamed, feeling my feet lift out from under me, falling face first into the water. When i came back up for air, now completely soaked, i could still feel Jake's hand on my ankle.
Rubbing the salt out of my eyes, i gave him a half hearted smile, and he smirked back at me, obviously proud of getting me in the water.
"you know.. it's not really that bad," i told him, feeling my body adjust to the cold.
"i told you," he picked me up, one hand holding my legs & one holding my back, and twirled me around in the water before throwing me & dropping me a few feet away.
this time, i grabbed his ankle and pulled him under the water with me, feeling it churn around us.
when we finally stood up again, the water up to my waist, Jake smiled at me, wrapping his arms around me. i mirrored his smile, moving closer to him, closing the gap between us.
when he leaned in to kiss me, softly touching his lips to mine, i felt like we were completely alone in the world. nothing else mattered besides this moment, right here, right now, with Jake.

sorry it took me so long to post this chapter, i've been really busy with homework & stuff. anyway, this is the last chapter, i hope you liked it. it wasn't as good as it could have been, i'm just really excited for my next story. i should be posting soon, so stay tuned (; i love you all.
