the Witty Hunger Games
day 4. Third Day during the games.

District 3's tribute Brigette's P.O.V.

I've been witnessing Jade, Caleigh, and Devin torture the pour girl from District 13. I feel bad, but I mean isn't this what careers do? We have to kill some people to win, right? I'm sitting out by our died out fire, while Devin and Jade went to look for food, and Caleigh's sleeping. I decide to approach the girl from 13. I walk over to her and she flinches while breathing heavily.
“.... Do it.” She says weakly.
“I'm not going to hurt you,” I say, laughing. “What's your name?”
She looks surprised “Shivani.”
I nod. “Brigette.”
I look over to her. She's covered in gashes, and her palms are bleeding as well. She's thin, probably because she hasn't eaten in about three days.
“I'd offer you some food, but Caleigh wouldn't hesitate to use a spear on me.”
She laughs nervously and nods.

I walk over from her and over to the stream by the Cornucopia and wash my face as I wait for the others to return.

District 10's tribute Sarah's P.O.V.

It's around noon. I can tell by the way the water glistens in the sunlight. I'm bawling right now. What if I don't make it home? How will my Mother and Sisters deal without me? The cameras are probably pointed right at me, my whole district and the world watching me lose against everyone, including myself. I turn to face towards the water. I had been depressed before the reaping. I still am depressed, and some days I just want to throw myself at the careers. I heard the shuffling of feet behind me.
“Hello?” I called out.
No answer. I shrugged it off and continued crying.
“No one cares, Sarah.” It was a soft, but vicious voice.

I turn around. It's a girl. One of the other tributes.
“I know.” I reply. “I've been told.”
She looked around my campsite, nodding. “I could kill you right now.” She says.

“Do it.”
She shook her head. “No, you want to die. There's no satisfaction in that.”
She sprinted away just like that. No goodbye, or even telling me her name. Nothing.
Maybe she'll come back.

District 3's Tribute Annie's P.O.V.

After running away thoughts of Devin filled my head.
Is he okay? Is he hurting other tributes? Has he killed anyone?

Obviously no one was around to answer my questions. I was deep in the forest, and I hadn't seen any sign of life all day, although I know water wasn't far away. I get up off the ground where I was resting and dust the dirt off my pants. I grab my small backpack and extra meat I had gotten from knowing a tiny bit about hunting. Where to go? My whole body was wanting to go and find Devin. He wasn't dead, the sky has been clear lately, and I didn't see him in the sky the first night either. I sigh an give in.

“He's most likely on his own.” I thought. “Maybe I should look for him.” I decide to set out and look for my best friend. Maybe he's wondering where I am too.
