Shorts, Bikinis, and Cute Launch Drivers

Chapter 1
Part 1

69 more seconds. 68, 67. Come on, hurry up. School is almost out for the summer and my teacher is going around the room asking people what their Summer plans were. I can’t believe she’s doing this. I mean we are practically seniors in high school, we don’t “share our plans” with the whole class anymore.

“Scarlett, what about you?” My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Mourine, asked.

I pull my gaze away from the clock. “Um, not much. Sailing, the beach,” I say, casually and turn back to the clock. 37, 36, 35.

“Oh, come on! You have to have at least one thing that is really exciting!” She shouted. I close my eyes and roll them back. I turn in my seat to face her and open them.

“Nope, nothing,” I say.

She claps her hands together. “No vacations, or Summer jobs?”

I was going to do a lot of work at sailing camps, but I wasn’t going to say that. “No, just a low key, laid back Summer, Mrs. Mourine.”

“Oh well, what about boys? Any boys?” She asks. Why must she pick on me? I can feel myself blushing like crazy.

“Umm...” Then a loud ringing interrupts me. Talk about saved by the bell. Everyone jumps from their seats and start shouting. I grab my bag and in all the commotion, rush out of the crowd and out of the classroom. 

THIS IS A STORY THAT I WILL FINISH!!! IN THE PAST I HAVE SAID THAT I WOULD FINISH A STORY AND DON'T BUT THIS ONE WILL BE FINISHED!!! Okay so I couln't fit the whole thing in here but this is the first half of the first chapter. I am posting the second half right after. For those of you who are wondering, a launch driver is a person who drives a launch (obvi) but a launch is a boat tht takes you from the dock to your boat at like a yacht club. Some people call them water taxis but I personally hate that, so I say launch like almost everyone else. Okay, so slow start, but it WILL get better. Promise!
