I
cough and laugh nervously, widening my eyes and then pointing at
myself. "So, you're not even gonna get me the 'real' story,"
He stops before going out of the door. "I did tell you the right
story," His words may be firm, but if my words are stronger, it
would be enough to break him down.
"No, you clearly didn't," I say, strongly; my voice is starting
to develop a sort of confidence. "You're lying,"
He smiles, and then starts to smirk. "I pity poor foolish souls
like you," And then a laugh escapes his mouth. "Your mother was
like you as well," There is something in his eyes: memories?
"I..." I don't know what to say, until Brett holds my hands and
cuffs them behind my back. "What're you doing?" My attention is
completely diverted to Brett. "What're you-?" I'm hushed by
Sirois.
"He is taking you away before we get rid of you," A bitter smile
on his face. "Finally, the day I've been waiting for," A sort of
relif in his tone, and then he slams the door, shut, behind
him.
I sit there, confused, shocked and scared. It takes a while to
realise what's going on.
I'm going to die. Yes. I'm going to die.
I didn't go along with the plan Josh told me; of how I need to
threaten Sirois by telling him I'll kill Dylan he he doesn't do
what I say.
But instead, I did nothing. And now I am going to die.
I'm starting to wonder what death might feel like. I
mean...What is it like to die? How does it feel?
It's funny how a minute ago I was planning Sirois Mandeth's
death, and now I'm looking forward to my own one.
I guess there is no worries of me dying. There wouldn't be any
pain or worry. I'm just going to die.
No one will miss me. I mean, who do I have that I can call my
own?
My mother is dead. My father is dead. My family is dead. My town
is dead. My friends are dead. Nick is dead. Martha is dead.
Josh nearly died. My school is dead...wait..my school? How can I
forget? I killed everyone in my school as well, didn't I?
No, wait. I couldn't have. I had put the bomb in the basement,
but I don't think anyone bothered to activate it. Nick died, so I
think Brett never gave Nick a chance to blow Brett's school
friends up into bits and pieces.
"I'll think of a way to get you out," Someone whispers into my
ear. I turn around to find that someone to be Dylan.
He is standing there; still looking gorgeous and deadly as
ever.
I shake my head. "No, I rather die," He thinks I'm being
sarcastic and starts to laugh; but soon realises I'm not
joking.
"Unknown, don't think like that," He pauses and then takes a seat
on the chair opposite me.
I look around and see that Brett is gone. "Where did he go?" I
murmur under my breath.
"Unknown, listen to me," I nod my head at whatever Dylan says and
look around the room for Brett. He must be up to something.
"Unknown look at me, and listen,"
I meet my gaze with Dylan for a second before getting up and
walking to the door, with the handcuffs, locked securely around
my wrists. I carefully pick the locks open; this is something
Nick had told me how to do, and in combat practises, it was
essential you knew this trick.
And then I turn around to look at Dylan. "I have to go, I think
your brother is up to something,"
Dylan gets up and follows me, quietly, as if understanding me.
"He only went to see what the workers are doing,"
I nod my head and then keep walking until I get to the staff
room, where the workers are probably working on some project,
because the door is closed.
"May I help you?" Someone asks from behind me and Dylan. I turn
around immediately to see Josh standing there.
A smile comes to my face, and takes over me as I see him. "Josh,"
I laugh and run into his arms. For a second, from the corner of
my eye, I swear I saw Dylan flinch a little.
I remember that Josh is not meant to remember me, but it seems as
if Dylan knows about everything that is going on; because Josh
gives Dylan a nod, and Dylan replies back with a smile.
I pull away from Josh's warm embrace. "What did he say?" Is the
first thing he asks me.
I frown. "He was talking about my mother, and then he told me
about how he 'dated' her," Just the thought of Sirois and my
mother makes me wanna puke.
Josh laughs and then looks at Dylan, before turning back to me.
"And what about the plan?" He looks at me, hopeful.
I shake my head and let out a sigh. "The plan was a fail," The
words don't hurt as they come out.
"She thinks she is going to die," Dylan says from his quiet space
in the corner. We both face to look at him.
Josh raises his eyebrow. "Erm...okay..?" He wants to laugh,
because he doesn't even know what happened back in that room. And
then he turns to face me with worriness in his yellow cat eyes.
"What is Dylan saying?" His voice is somewhat quiet as he
talks.
"It's true," I whisper. "I'm going to die,"
"And how we all know it's going to be true," Someone shouts from
behind. But I can say the person is a man or maybe a boy.
The person is faint and blurry; and I can't make them out, as
they stand in the dark shadow. I think the person is holding a
gun or something? No...It can't be..
"Who and what?" Josh whispers, in confusion.
"And her life might as well end here, right in this place, right
now," And then he pulls the trigger.
Sorry about my delays in writing new chapters; I did
terrible in my English exam (oh the irony); but thanks to my
friend Enna ( :D ), she justified the matter, and said it was
only because a really cr*ap teacher marked
it.
