Chapter 1
I grabbed my bags and ran down the
hall, Connor better be ready by now. In less than two hours,
connor, Amanda, and I are suppose to be on a flight to New Jersey
to see our father. I got to connor's room and tried to open
the door. I grasped the doorknob, but it would turn. He locked
it, again.
"Ugh! Connor! I thought we talked about all of this! Open
the door!" I screamed. "We have to leave for the
airport in twenty minutes! Please!" I hollered again.
I kicked the door as hard as I could. I wasn't that strong,
after all I was only 100 pounds. After five minutes of screaming
the door flung open. I stumbled into Connor's room, almsot
falling down. His eyes were red from crying.
"Oh Connor, we'll be back before you know it." I
gave him a big hug.
Connor was my best friend, he always has been. Since we're
only a year apart, we've learned to be there for each other
over the years. When our parents got divorced a little over a
year ago, Connor was heart broken. He was our dad's biggest
fan, and when he cheated on our mom, it ruined Connor's image
of him. With Connor being fifteen, he tried fighting our dad, and
our dad said he hated Connor, and we haven't seen him since
that night, when he left.
"Shelby you don't get it, you didn't get told your
idol hated you." He sobbed.
"I'm sorry. Its not like he didn't try calling Con.
He calls you everyday, Sarah and I are the only ones who talk to
him. You should have taken the calls." I said.
"He grabbed his bag and walked with me down the hall to
Sarah's room.
"Yeah I know, but I still wish I could go back in time, you
know? Not try to fight him, stop him from cheating on mom."
He said quietly.
"Yeah, but you can't. And now you just have to deal with
the fact that you made a mistake, and mom and dad made some
mistakes too. Now come on we have to leave if we're gonna
make this flight." I said.
I grabbed Sarah's arm and led them all out to my truck. We
threw our bags in the back and drove to the airport. Luckily, we
made it just in time to our flight, we ran threw security, and
gave the attendant our tickets. We sat in our seats, and I was
next to Connor. I fell asleep quickly, the our and a half drive
made me so tired. The next thing I knew, I woke up, and the
flight attendants were instructing us over the intercoms to
buckle up, because we were
landing.
