 I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. This pregnancy test, in my hand, said positive. And positive means I’m pregnant.  I started to cry. Liam put his hand under my chin and softly lifted my head up to look at him. “Terry, it’ll be okay. I promise. I’m here for you, forever. Nothing will ever change that.” He said. “Call your mom. Okay? Tell her. It’ll be easier.” He said… “I can’t Liam. You don’t understand! She’s going to hate me. She’ll kick me out of my house and make me live in the streets.” Liam started to laugh. “This isn’t funny Liam!” I screamed. “Sorry… I was thinking of something.” He said. “THINKING OF WHAT?! WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY BE THINKING ABOUT?” I shouted. I was mad now, really mad. “Us. Our future together… just think about it. You and I, together. With a baby… getting married at a young age and our marriage lasting a life time-“ I cut him off. “Take me home. Take me home NOW.” I screamed. WHAT COULD HE BE SAYING?! THAT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. “Look, Terry I’m sorry. I guess I’m thinking too much into this. If you don’t agree with what I think will happen, what do you think will happen?!” He yelled back. “I don’t… I don’t know.” I said back. My phone started to ring. I looked at who it was and it was my mom… “Answer.” Liam said. And I did.
“Hello?”
“Ter, where are you? Come home now.”
“Mom, I need to tell you something.”
“Tell me when you get home, okay sweetie? We’re eating soon and your dinner is going to get spoiled if you don’t come home now.”
I started to cry. “Mom, listen to me. Please. I’m sitting in my car. In the Wal-Mart parking lot. With my boyfriend Liam.” I looked at Liam who smiled. Boyfriend. Well I guess he is… he’s obviously not just a friend if he’s the father of my baby now… “With a pregnancy test In my hand… it reads positive.”
It was silent on the other line. “Hello? Mom. Answer me! Mom?”
“… Come home. Now.” She said and then hung up.
“I’ll drop you off and then go home.” I told Liam. He nodded and then directed me where to go to get to his house. His house is huge… “Bye Terry. Please, call me later. Okay?” he said and then kissed me on the cheek, then quickly added
“I love you.”
