22: Part 2
"Asthma?" I whispered, and then grabbed him. "You never
told!" I sounded scared, but worried. "Are you okay?" I
whispered, and then rubbed his back gently, which seemed to help
him a little.
Dylan stopped coughing, and then sat up to look at me. "I'm
fine," He croaked out. "Don't worry about me. I'm not a serious
patient of asthma," He puffed out air, and then took more
freshness in.
I looked at him, feeling helplessly guilty for making him run all
the way here into a green forest. "I'm so so sorry," My body
immediately met his, and we sat in silence, in each other's
embracement, calmly and quietly.
"I told you, I'm alright," His voice was so tender, so gentle;
there wasn't a slightest hint that he was angry at me. "I'm
fine," He sounded more alarm and alert now.
I shook my head and soon the tears started to spill. "You're not
alright," I whispered. "I made you run all the way here," I
paused. "And I ignored you and reacted stupid when you kissed me
and.." I hushed my words. I didn't want to ramble on.
Dylan noticed my fade in words, and spoke up. "Its okay," He
sighed. "I know what girls are like," He smiled and the end of
his last few words.
I raised my eyebrow. "Because you're secretly a girl in
disguise," I started to laugh, and then soft lips felt mine.
"No, silly," He chuckled. "I have a little sister," He paused,
and cupped his palm around my face. "And she's just like you,"
Dylan laughed. "Stubborn, acts stupid, but I love her,"
"You have a sister," I asked, suddenly seeming a bit curious.
Dylan snickered lightly, and then bit his lip. "Yes, she is just
like you," He paused, and then leaned in to kiss my forehead.
I could feel his chest, as he leaned in, and then a loud
heartbeat.
I smiled, and looked down, hoping he wouldn't see my red face. It
was dark, he surely couldn't see it. I mean..I couldn't see his
face, all I could see were his white teeth and those wild olive
green eyes, that were ever so yellow right now.
Deep royal gold and light peppermint green was the colour of his
eyes right now, beautiful. He looked gorgeous and dark and
handsome, remarkably dashing, even in his jeans and blue
shirt.
Well they do say that 'Nature's first green spring is gold' Those
were the words to describe his eyes at this moment.
He glistened his white teeth again under the alien white
moonlight, that was shining off our faces, bouncing off in all
directions.
I bit my lip lightly, hesitating and then stood up from the soil
ground. "We should get home," I whispered, and then shut my eyes
while looking at the floor.
Dylan stared at me, blankly. "If only you could tell me where we
are?" He started to look at his surroundings, puzzled and lost in
this unknown environment.
I followed his eyes and vacantly looked around to absorb the
atmosphere. "I don't know," I whispered, unable to make out
words.
My house was extremely close to this forest. Nick had always told
me to never ever come here; why didn't I ever listen to him. I
miss his guidance, and I can't even follow his path, because he
is dead.
I wasn't thinking, I was just running, and that's how I ran into
this jungle-like place.
It was cold. I huddled myself, and took a seat next to the large
tree; there were thick and twisting mis-shaped trees, whistling
violently, as the grey smoky clouds swept across the sky. Black
toadstools and a bitter feeling in the atmosphere, along with the
eerie whispers, repeating the same words: 'Turn back, Turn back,
or else...'
I gulped, wondering if Dylan could hear these strange voices. But
I don't think he did; he was too busy pacing around, trying to
figure out how to get out of this place.
There was a strange, never-before-experienced cooling chill in
the setting, which made me think twice about this place.
Hey, wait, maybe it might not be that bad? As long as I'm here
with Dylan, I'll be alright. Won't I?
"Get up!" There was a grumble. I looked up to see darkness, and
then moon reflected from the small spaces, between the trees, and
a blue supernatural light hit his face. He still looked gorgeous.
He was beautiful. Any girl would be crazy for him, the minute she
saw him. But why did it take me that long to see his beauty; from
the outside and the inside.
I got up, silently from the floor, again and then faced his body,
which was only a little visible.
There was a scratch on his arm's sleeve, and there a little
amount of blood pouring from it. I stared at it. Feeling even
more guilty about making him run into this forest. "I'm sorry-"
My voice was cut of with his words.
"I told you, it doesn't matter," Dylan paused. "What matters is
that we've come too deep into this jungle, We need to get out,"
There was hesitation in his voice. "Its dark, and this is an old
jungle, which people hardly go through," He paused again and
gulped. "That means there could be animals,"
I wanted to gasp, but kept it inside me, so I didn't look stupid.
It's a jungle. What do you expect?
"We're gonna have to get out of here, in the dark," He stopped,
and took my hand. "Quietly and safely," And then he widened his
eyes. "Do.not. and I repeat, do not
leave my sight,"
I nodded, but silly me can't listen to what people say.
And did exactly what I was told not to do.
I'm so sorry for not writing in a while, guys ):
