Cancer
Is My New Best Friend.
Chapter 6,
It was the weekend; I made sure I
was going to forget about this cancer.
I told Dallas, mom and dad how I
felt about them and how they have being treating me.
“Get your shoes on”
mom smiled “We’re going to the
beach”
I quickly put on a beach dress,
white and red polka dot bikini and a pair of flip
flops.
We arrived at the beach where the
smell was just like when I was a little girl.
We sat on the sand having a
picnic but for some reason it didn’t feel like the old
times. My feet stood up and went over to the sea.
The waves crashed over my
ankles.
I felt my hair but nothing was
there. I just wanted my blonde hair back I wanted everything to
be back to normal.
I felt a hard figure push me into
the figure.
“I’m so sorry”
the boy said helping me up.
“It’s alright”
I said, I felt my cheeks go red “I better
go”
“What’s your
name?” he smiled “I’m Jesse”
“Casey” I
smiled.
I saw a shadow appear, I knew
exactly who it was.
It was Dallas; I didn’t
need his big brother protection.
“Well I’m sorry for
banging into you; I’ll make sure it won’t happen
again” Jesse smiled “Here”
He wrote his number on my
hand.
“You will make sure it
never happens again” Dallas snapped.
“Shut up!” I said
pushing Dallas. Jesse left in silence and I ran off.
I had no clue where I was running
to.
I hid behind a old beach shack
that was now closed.
Tears escaped my eyes, I felt the
sand around me and I let out a smile.
“Casey, what’s
wrong?” Jesse said sitting beside me “That boy told
me to come see you.”
“Nothing, he ruins
everything” I said looking at the boardwalk which was in
the distance.
“He’s alright”
he said poking me “So, what’s wrong with
you?”
“What do you mean?”
my voice said shakily.
“Why do you have no
hair?” he said confidently.
“I have cancer” I
said clearing my throat “Leukaemia”
“I’m sorry” he
said wiping my tears “You’re beautiful just the way
you are”
“Do you mean that?” I
smiled.
“I don’t tell many
people they’re beautiful” he winked “So how
about we go to the boardwalk?”
