Rescue Me

Chapter 31
Noelle's POV

"Noelle!  Wake up, wake up, wake up!  It's Christmas!" my little sisters jumped on my bed, making me laugh.  So reluctantly - at seven thirty in the morning - I stood up and ran downstairs with them.  My mom was already down there, with the camera recording on the stand.  "Okay girls, you can start opening your presents, but remember you have to show the camera." my little sisters squealed as they started tearing the wrapping paper off of their first presents.  "You aren't going to open yours?" my mom asked when I sat down next to her.  "I told you not to get me anything." I whispered, I didn't want my sisters to hear.  "Oh, nonsense, it's just one or two small things." she smiled, I smiled back and stood up to get my small stack of presents.

I gasped, oh my Gosh.  "Mom, it's beautiful." I told her, still in awe, she gave me one of her necklaces.  When I was little we used to play dress up and I would always ask for this necklace.  A gold chain, with little diamond strings dangling down from halfway up the chain.  I was amazed, she loved this necklace.  "You didn't have to give this to me." I told her.  "That's the best part, it's not mine." she smiled, "I was in the store a month or two ago and I found this.  So now we both have this necklace." I smiled too, giving her a hug.  "Thank you so much . . . and I know you're probably wondering why I've been so happy lately."  "A boy?" she guessed.  "Yeah." I smiled wider, "And as of last night we're dating." it was her time to smile now, "Do you want to see him?" she nodded and I brought up a picture of him.  Her face scrunched, "Isn't he from that boy band that you love?" she tilted her head in confusion.  "Yeah, he is." I told her the rest of the story, how we met and such, at the end she was almost in tears she was soo happy.

After the girls finished opening their gifts, my mom started making chocolate chip pancakes like she does every Christmas morning, it was our family tradition.  Julia came over and we started helping Aubrey and Cassidy set up one or two of their toys.  We ate shortly after that, we sat at the table a little longer though - like we always do - and talked, laughed, joked around, and just enjoyed the morning.  My phone started ringing later that day at like ten.  "Hello?" I answered laughing.  "Hello beautiful, someone's happy." Zayn's voice came through the phone.  "Yeah, I've been awake for almost three hours." I laughed.  "Ooh, fun."  "Yeah," I laughed, "Hey, do you guys wanna come over later?" I asked, looking at my mom.  "All of us?  Yeah sure." he answered.  "Okay, just come whenever." I told him, still looking at my mom.  "Okay, we'll come over in probably like . . . two hours."  "Great, bye."  "Bye N." and we both hung up the phone.  I smiled, my mom didn't expect to meet Zayn tonight, but she's going to . . . I should probably warn her.  "Hey mom." I called into the kitchen as I walked to her.  "Yes sweetie?" she turned from the sink and dried her hands on a dish towel.  "So Zayn and the boys, plus two girlfriends are coming over around twelve."  "Great I can't wait to meet them." she smiled.
