Chapter 33
Derek's expression looked somewhere between suprise,
confusion, and sympathy as I took him through the evemts recently.
"So let me get this straight, you basically stole your best
friends boyfriend, and now you're not even telling her about
it?" he said accusingly. "Well when you say it like that,
I sound like a total (swearwords are no longer aloud so I will now
say Nemo instead of them. Cuz nemo's beast...) Nemo!" I
said, realizing that though his words sound harsh, they were
absolutely true. "No, I didn't mean it like that. I get
where your coming from. You're in love with him aren't
you?" Was I in love with Hunter? Did I really love a guy that
I haven't even dated and might not ever? I was saved by the
movie; the lights dimmed and the movie began. Turns out it was
actually pretty good. A romantic comedy that had you captivated
from the beginning. As the movie ended and we exited the theater
Derek spoke up, "so, um... are we really going to do this
movie thing with Ally?" "Well yeah! I am not going to
just leave you hanging!" I said truthfully. "If you do
this for me, I will try and help you out on this whole Hunter
situation," he bargained. "It's a deal," I
agreed and we shook on it.
Hunters POV
"Hunterrrrrrrr," my ten year old sister whined.
"What?" I snapped. "Jade wants to go to a
movie! Please take us!" "I already told you I have better
things to do then take you and your little friend wherever you
want!" "Like what? Sit in your room doing nothing?"
My fists clenched at my sides and Kara took a step back. "Just
please! I'll do your chores for two weeks!" "Make it
a month and its a deal," I said. She reluctantly agreed and
scurried upstairs to call her friend. Great, now i get to spend my
Sunday with my bratty sister and her friend. It was already bad
enough I had to skip out on Kelly so I could basically babysit a
5th grader. I grabbed the keys to my pickup truck and we headed off
to pick up Jade and then go to some animated show. "Hunter...
HUNTER!" Kara yelled, trying to get my attention. We were at
the concessions stand and I was lost in thought as I stared in
front of me. I caught a glimpse of brown hair. Could it be? My
hopes were up until I realized she was with some guy, and I
concluded that it wasn't her. "What?" I answered,
dissapointment in my voice. "We want popcorn!" the girls
chanted, oh this was going to be fun. •••
There's two hours of my life I'll never get back. Watching
Hayley the Horse and Dom the Dragon take on the wicked witches as
pretty intense though... not. I took seat on a bench while
Jade and Kara went to the bathroom. I was looking out the movie
theater window when I saw her. This time, I was for sure it was
her. Kelly was standing outside talking to some guy. Was that
Derek? The Derek? The Derek she's had a major crush on for
years. I watched him shyly say something, her reply, and him say
something that made her smile. They shook hands and walked on
across the street headed who knows where. Oh, so she's already
with some other guy? I wasn't sure if us kissing was
just... a spur of the moment thing, but now i guess I got my
answer. Kell and I had no chance. It was time for me to confront
Callie about this whole situation. Oh gosh, this was going to be a
toughie. Especially when I'm pretty sure I'm in love with
her best friend as well.
