Certified Barbie
There I was, me, Emmy Julia Harrison, all alone on graduation day. Next year was my first year of high school, and I still had no friends. Sure, I’m kind of awkward, but you would have thought that somebody would try and make an effort to be my friend, but no. At least, not in this little town of Ohio. That was when I came up with my plan.

You see, I wanted to be noticed, but you can’t change overnight…or could you? I watch MTV, I’ve seen Jersey Shore and that’s where I wanted to go. I’d stay with my cousins down there. They haven’t seen me since I was seven, so no one there would know anything about me. This was great. All I needed to do was convince my parents.

Mom was always trickier to convince than my dad, I guess it’s just a maternal instinct. So once my dad came home from work, I told him about how I wanted to spend time with my cousins and that spending the summer down there would help us to bond together. He agreed right away. “Sounds like a great idea, sweetie.” he said. Now, I had to plan for mom. Once she came through the door I said, “Hey mom. You’re looking very nice today.” She could see right through me and asked “What do you want?” I told her what I had told dad and I added that I could get a job and make some extra cash. She liked the part about the extra cash but she said we would need to contact my cousins first, to see if they would allow me to stay with them. She said she would call tomorrow to see if I could stay.

That night I decided who I would be, if I got to go, Barbie.

Not really my kind of story (I don't think people should change who they are to fit in), but it's very good writing. I'm interested to see where it goes. Btw, thanks so much for reading my story. I'm glad you like it! ;)
