Mistake.
Chapter 10
I
realized that meeting him was a big mistake, maybe my parents
were right, I’d always be the mistake.
“I wish life would just go away”
I muttered under my breath “Maybe it would be better if I
committed suicide”
“You can’t” I heard a voice
behind me “I mean you
shouldn’t”
I turned around to see a boy stood behind me,
it was a guy from my school.
“Why would you care?” I said
turning around, “You don’t know
me”
“I know your mom is a druggie and your
dad’s an alcoholic” he said moving
closer.
“How’d you know?” I quickly
snapped “Who told you?”
“Everyone knows” he said in a low
voice.
“B-but” I said feeling tears
swell up into my eyes “How long?”
“I don’t know, I found out about
3 months ago” he said placing his cold arm onto my shoulder
“If it’s any comfort my dad was both of
those”
“And what happened to him?” I
asked looking into his green eyes.
“He died from drug abuse and liver
failure” he said coldly.
“I’m sorry” I said feeling
sympathy fill my body.
“Don’t bother with sympathy he
deserved it if you ask me” he said “C’mon let
me give you a lift home”
“I can’t go home” I said
looking around.
“How come?” he asked, I remained
quiet “You can come back to mine”
I got into his car as he put on music
Umbrella by All Time Low filled the cars
silence.
We arrived to his house which looked small. I
looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile. We stepped out of
his car and we went inside.
“Promise what you see you won’t
tell anyone at school?” he whispered.
“I promise” I smiled, I put my
hand out to hold his but he moved it away.
I saw this woman snorting something, I think
it was weed and she had a cigarette in her
hand.
“Mom” he said taking the
cigarette of her “This is Megan”
“Hi” she smiled putting the weed
down “Is she your girlfriend? She’s
pretty”
Wow she must be high on drugs because
I’m ugly.
“No she isn’t” he said
looking towards me, “Follow me”
“You have the life that I have” I
said trying not to smile, he looked at me and
smiled.
“I guess so” he smiled
“Come here”
I went over to him where he hugged and kissed
me on the cheek,
“You know if you ever need someone to
talk to, I’ll be here” he smiled.
“Thanks” I smiled, our eyes
locked together and he pulled me in for a kiss.
“I’d love it if we could go out
with each other” he said in a soft gentle
voice.
I closed my eyes, was he the one for me? What
about Rocco?
