i wish my family was normal.
don't get me wrong.
i love them.
but i wish i could change everything about them.

this isn't usual teen angst.
i'm not just saying they're different.

they are different.

this isn't just a teen complaining.
i'm not a teenager.
i'm not bitter and angry,
in the middle of a fight.

this is me,
a twenty-something university student
on an ordinary day
just wishing they were different.

just wishing for normality.
