We took a left off the main road, which led
down to a farm.
The barn was big, brown and looked like it was going to fall
apart.
Two girls outside of the barn were cleaning up a dark brown
horse.
Looking out onto the right side of the car, there was a field.
There must had been
over 10 cows in the field; there was a couple of baby cows
too.
We pulled to a stop, when we got to the driveway. We were
parked infront
of a navy blue 2 story house. Marc asked me if I wanted to go
inside
and get cleaned up, because I was all dirty and had a little of
blood
on my knee from the accident.
He led me inside, and showed me where the bathroom was.
I brought my bag into the bathroom with me that I grabbed
before
I got out of the car to go in the pick-up truck with Marc.
I reapplied my blush on my face, when I first looked in the
mirror.
I looked like hell. I was hell. I put some more mascara,
and
darkened my eye liner, so I didn't look as pale.
I changed my shirt into a pink tighter tanktop, and rolled up
my
whitened jeans into capress.
When I came out of the bathroom, I walked through the kitchen
area
and I heard Marc talking in the room over from that. So when I
got
into the living room, there was a mother cradling a
little baby girl in a maroon blanket.
The lady looked like she had been crying, because her eyes were
dark
and red. She was wearing a bright lime-green shirt, with tan
baggy shorts.
She gave a quick smile when I walked into the room,
she
stood up from the chair she was sitting on and put out her
hand.
I shook her hand and she said,
"Hello, nice to meet you Grace; I'm Martha, Marcs
mom"
I replied "nice to meet you too" I gave a shy little
smile to Martha
and the little baby she was holding. Marc had told Martha
what
had happened to me, and how I wasn't staying anywhere right
now. So they
asked me if I wanted to stay for dinner.
About an hour later I was sitting at the kitchen table
with
Marc, Martha, Dave Marcs dad, and Courtney Marcs little baby
sister.
We said Grace, and prayed before we all started to eat
all of the chicken and mash potatoes Martha had just made.
It smelled amazing, I was just thinking about how I haven't
aten good food
like this in a while, because I always had to make myself my
own food and I was
never good at that.
Dave hesitated when he said to me
"what brings you to this side of town? And what do your
parents do for jobs"
I looked down at my food wondering how I should answer
this..
