I turned in front of a mirror to see myself from all angles. I was wearing a slim fitting blue sundress that made my blue eyes and dark brown hair pop.

                “Daniel would flip for you in that,” said Erika walking up behind me.

                “Which is exactly why I’m getting it,” I told her.

                I paid and the five of us left the boutique we were at to move on to one of the many others that dotted the street along the outdoor mall’s plaza square.

                “Hey I’ll catch up with you later, Daniel said he needed to stop by for some things and I want to go find him.”

                “Alright, we’ll be in Clarice’s for the time being,” said Emma.
               
                I got out my cell and tried calling Daniel to see where he was, but I went straight to voicemail. Walking towards the food court, I glanced at the time. Five thirty. I was supposed to meet Daniel there at five forty five, so I still had fifteen minutes. I arrived moments later and went to buy a soda from a vendor while I waited for him.

                “Hey Ali,” said Jason coming to stand in line behind me.

                “Hey."

                “Are you here all buy yourself?” he questioned.

                “No, I’m meeting Daniel but I’m early. You?” I asked while the vendor handed me my drink.

                “Nah I’m hanging Ben and Michael, they’re over there waiting for me,” he gestured towards a table.

                I glanced in the direction.

                “Jason, please tell me that isn’t what I think it is,” I begged.

                “Oh my gosh Ali, I’m so sorry,” he answered.
