Imperfection is Perfection
Chapter
1
"I'm coming Mom, hold on a second!" I screamed from
upstairs as I was getting ready for school. My mom was always
yelling at me to hurry up in the mornings. But who could blame
me, I had to look perfect. I live in a town where knock-off's
are completely unacceptable and looked down on, and the only
clothes that are worn are designer brands that cost at least 300$
per shirt. Plus, I had a reputation to contain. I am known as the
rich, popular, barbie. It's a coincidence that my name is
Barbara and I have blonde hair, I'm tan, and I have big
boobs. Even my friends call me Barbie; it's who I am.
I ran down the stairs, and out the door to the Cadillac where my
mom was waiting for me. "What took you so long?!" My
mom yelled at me. "Sorry! I couldn't decide what lip
gloss to wear..." I said, with a sarcastic yet truthful
tone. School was right around the corner though, so I would
leave my house right before the first bell. "By
Mommy, love you!" I screamed as I shut the door. "Wait,
Barbara!" she said as she rolled down the car window.
"You have a doctors appointment after school at 3,
don't forget!" Crap, that's right. I forgot about
it! I have been feeling such sharp pains deep in my rib cage, so
Mom said I should get it checked out. I've been worried about
it, because I have no idea what it could possibly be.
As I walk into school, people swarm me. What can I say, I'm
popular. And loving it. School passed quickly, and the doctors
appointment was all I could think about. We drove out of the
school driveway, and hopped of the highway. Soon, I was
leading my mom into the waiting room. "Stop
moving, you're shaking the chairs." Mom said as I was
viciously shaking my legs nervously. "Barbara?" The
doctor called out to the waiting room. I got up, and followed the
doctor to the room. "Have a seat, Dr. Blake will be with you
soon." She said to me. I sat down in a comfy chair, awaiting
for the doctor. Not surprisingly, my legs began to shake again.
About five minutes later, I saw the door handle turn, and the
door opened wide. "Hello there, Barbara! How are we doing
today?" Said Dr. Blake. "Great, I guess. Thanks."
I said, my voice quivering a little bit. "So, what seems to
be the problem?" She said to me while typing into her little
laptop. I then explained all of my symptoms, feelings, ect. to
her. "Okay, let's take a quick X-Ray, and we will see
what the problem is here." I hopped off the table, and went
into the X-Ray room. It was dark and scary, I have to admit. She
instructed me to lie down on the table, and so I did. She put a
heavy blanket/apron over my legs, then walked into a mini
room to push the button that'd take the X-Ray.
"Allright, all done." She said to me as she took off
the apron. I followed her out of the room, and back into her
office. I sat in a little chair that was facing her desk. She was
doing some more work on her laptop, and I figured it was her
pulling up the X-Ray. When I heard a little 'bleep', she
said "Ah, here it is." A knot formed in my stomach and
my palms of my hands started to sweat. I look up at her face, and
her eyes are glued to the screen. She keeps staring, and says
slowly, "Oh no..."
Hey, Wittians! Okay so this is my
