Everything Happens for a Reason
Chapter 15

The man that was standing infront of me was very tall and
fit. He was light-skinned, and he had chiseled facial
features and green eyes that brought them out. His lips were
perfectly shaped and had a rosy pink color to them. He had
thick light brown hair that fell perfectly on his face.
When he saw me, he flashed me a pearly white smile and said
"Hello, you must be Audrey! I've heard so much about
you! I'm Nick" he held out his hand, and I extended
my arm to shake his.
"Hello, I'm pathetic, nice to meet you" I
said in my head before I actually replied with,
"H-Hi, n-nice to meet you" I stammered
Man what a fool of myself I was making!
"And who's this?" he asked curiously referring
to Damien. Before I could introduce Damien, he held out his
hand and said "I'm Damien Lockwood, Audrey's
boyfriend" with a little emphasis on the word
"boyfriend". He was obviously jealous that I
thought Nick was hot. He was acting like such a guy,
but I thought it was adorable.
My mom came in just then and chimed
"The table's set! Come right this way to the dining
room" I took Damien's hand, assuring him that he had
nothing to worry about, and he squeezed my hand, and we
strode into the dining room.
Wow, mom really made everything fancy for this guy. She must
really like him. I mean, how could she not? He was a
total babe.
Damien pulled out a seat for me to sit in, and then sat next
to me. I watched as Nick did the same for my mom. When we
were all seated, we said grace, and then began to eat. To my
surprise, the dinner talk wasn't boring, it was actually
interesting. I got to know Nick better and he got to know me
better. I could see this guy as a
step-dad, but I just had to get the whole
i-think-he's-so-hot thoughts out of my head.
After we finished eating, we were all sitting there when Nick
broke the silence by saying,
"Wow, Amy, that dinner was amazing!"
For the first time in I don't know how long, I saw my
mother blush as she said "Thank you, but that's not
the end of it, I've made a Red Velvet Cake."
"Mmm," I said "Want me to help you take it
out?"
"Sure, sweetie"
We both left the dining room and walked to the kitchen. As
soon as we got there, I gushed "Mom! He's so great!
I'm so happy for you"
"Aww, Audrey! That means so much to me! I knew you'd
like him, he's so down to earth. I hope this works out,
sweetie, I really do."
"Me too" I grinned
She got the cake and I got plates and forks, and then we both
walked back into the living room to find Nick and Damien
talking and laughing.
Well I'm glad that the tension between them is gone,
because it was way too awkward between them before. Everyoone
admitted that the cake was amazing, and I suggested that my
mom should have her own cooking show, and everyone liked the
idea except my mom who said "I think I like where
I'm at now," looking at Nick.
Awwwww. They were so cute.
I decided that they needed alone time now, and so I gently
grabbed Damien's arm and he understood. We both excused
ourselves, and left them alone. I took Damien upstairs, and
into my room. I was allowed to have guys in here, but the
door had to stay open. My mother even reminded me of that as
she yelled from the living room
"Audrey, that door better stay open!"
"I know mom!" I yelled back
Damien laughed and I hit his arm, and said "What are you
laughing about?"
"You" he said teasingly
"What? Do I look funny or something?"
"Yeah, very funny"
"Well, let's see if you think this is funny!" I
pushed him onto my bed so that now I was lying ontop of him,
and I held his arms, and looked him right in the eyes. I held
his gaze for a moment, before he got up, and playfully
wrestled with me until I finally gave up and let him be ontop
of me. He began tickling me like crazy, and I gasped "Oh
my gosh! Stop it!" I could barely breathe in between
giggles "You're gonna kill me!" I giggled
"Fine, I'll stop," he said laughing and he got
off of me, so that we were both now in a sitting
position.
"I love your laugh, it's so cute" He
admitted
"I love y--" I gasped, and put a hand over my
mouth, to stop myself from finishing my sentence.
What did I just do?
