Someone Like You
Chapter
Five
I let my skin breathe during luch, by
going outside for lunch.
I sat on a bench and pulled out my sack lunch. Inside was my
peanut butter sandwich, apple, and chocolate milk. I bit into
my sandwich and leaned back into the table.
I almost didn't notice a shadow falling over my lunch. I
looked up to see Matthew, grinning down at me.
"Can I sit?" he asked. I nodded, too shocked to
speak. He sat down across from me and stared at me.
"Are you going to eat anything?" I said, feeling
piggish, chowing down on my sandwich and apple, my chocolate
milk half empty.
"Not hungry." Matt grinned. "Don't talk with
your mouth full. It's not attractive."
He flicked my nose.
I grimaced and pulled away from his hand.
"It's not nice to hit people," I stuck my tounge
out at him. I normally would have felt stupid acting like this,
but with Matt, I felt comfortable, as if we'd known
eachother our entire lives.

After school that day, I walked home. Jack was staying
after at school to sign up for the football team. Lizzie
had art club, and I couldn't ask Matt to walk me
home! It would be stupid.
I was just getting on my street when a car pulled up beside me.
The window rolled down, and Matt looked out.
Fantastic.
