what dont you understand exactly? its just how some ppl chose to express their built up emotions bc they dont trust other enuff to tell them about their problems

It releases a build up of stress and tension and horrible feelings that people can't let out.
It's like their escape when there's no one there for them, they just feel alone, and they don't know what to do.

I guess people do it to feel the pain on the outside as aposed to feeling it on the inside. Very sad :(

All the answers below except for savannah, (mysweetescape) are wrong..... Cutting is wrong period. You feel you need to hurt yourself and forget about the othe rhting that was hurting you first... Like bullies, drama, breakup...THATS WHY!!!
