Take a Risk with
Me

(Kylie)
Luke and I walked into his
enormous kitchen. Immeditately the mouth watering smell of
chicken soup finds its way to my nose. "Sweet, chicken soup,
that's my favorite one of your amazing dishes," I say
politely to Mrs.johnson. "Oh thank you, hun!" She
replied with a meaningful grin. Luke's mom was so kind
hearted, generous, and well intentioned. She had all the things
my mom lacked. His mom had already fixed Luke and I plates of
food. "You guys can eat where ever you like," she
said.
"Aren't we all eating together?" Luke questioned.
"No, your father is working late and I'm having a girls
night out with some friends, so I'm leaving soon."
"That sounds like so much fun!" I said genuinly.
"Oh, it will be. We're getting our hair done, going to
dinner, and then seeing a movie, just like old times!"
She beamed. "Well thanks for the food mom, Kylie and I will
be outside eating, have fun tonight." Kylie.
I loved the way my name sounded coming from his lips."Okay
sweetheart, and don't worry I will, trust me," Mrs.
Johnson said before turning around to go upstairs so she could
get ready.
Luke opened the door that led to the screened in deck, and said
in a horrible british accent, "Shall we?" I giggled and
replied with a caring, "You're such a dork." At
that, he broke character, and laughed. "Well, I do
try," he winked. I just rolled my eyes and went to sit down
in one of the lounging chairs. His yard, like his house, was huge
and beautiful. There were gardens and a giant pool, jacuzzi,
and a fire pit. In the middle of the biggest flower garden
there was a large, elegant fountain. Despite chicken soup
being my favorite, I just couldn't eat. I took a few
spoonfuls and I was done. Luke took note of me pushing my plate
aside.
"Are you not hungry?" "Not really, that fight
kinda killed my appetite." "Do you want to talk about
it?" Luke asked with interest. "There's
nothing really to talk about, it's just the same
stuff over and over. My mom doesn't
think who I am is good enough, all she does is
critisize me and I'm so sick of it," my voice cracked as
I finished the sentence. Great, I thought, now he's going to
think I'm some emotional freak.
