your cousin's place [[who lives just FOUR HOUSES AWAY]] for a
bit? Or does everybody's parents
not let you sleepover
at a GIRL-friend's place for a night? Or does everybody's
parents not let you go to the mall JUST WITH YOUR
FRIENDS? Or does everybody's parents
not let you get a
cellphone of YOUR OWN [[ a really crappy
one - that works - AT THE LEAST ]]? Or does everybody's mom get upset when you
get a B+ on an assignment? Or does everybody's dad get angry
when you're just saying what you want to say and
what you
feel?
Or does
everybody's parents just don't have LEGIT TRUST in you?
Or does
everybody's parents
just think
that within just THREE FRIGGIN'
MINUTES, you'd get hurt? Or does
everybody's parents just think that you
are that IRRESPONSIBLE? Or does
everybody's parents believe that you would do something SO
STUPID? Or does
everybody's parents
just think
that you are as DISHONEST as you think they do? Or does
everybody's parents
just
UNDERESTIMATE
you?
Or does
everybody's parents just don't give the FREEDOM you
deserve?
What is SO different about ME and my other
friends who have the FREEDOM I want AND need?
Why can't I ENJOY my LIFE as much as they do?
You always say to enjoy life when you're young, DON'T
YOU? Then WHY aren't YOU ALLOWING ME to do
so? HUH.
I'm TRYING to prove to
you that I CAN be ALL THAT.
RESPONSIBLE,
TRUSTWORTHY, HONEST, SMART and
SELF-DEFENSIVE.
I'm TRYING to prove to
you that I CAN be SAFE.
THAT... is what I am asking you.
Can I show you that I am
ABLE take care of myself?
I need that INDEPENDENCE.
