They are arguing over child support. The mother is saying that she was the one who carried the child and gave birth to it, so she should keep it. The man says "If i go to a vending machine, i would want to get a soft drink. I put my money in and the vending machine gives it to me. So do I get the soft drink, or does the vending machine?"
