Not Enough Tears
chapter two..
My Aunt Miranda
and I went home from my dad's funeral silently. I wasn't
really the social type, but my aunt is. This is the first time in
a very, very long time that she actually stopped. I was trying to
organize things in my mind. Did he know he was going to
die? What if somebody threatened him! Now that I really
thought hard about it, the day before he disappeared, he was
being so nice to me and hugging my lots and lots of times. If
only he told me, I would've spent that whole day with him and
bonding with him. I started to tear up, but I swallowed them back
like always. We arrived at my Aunt's cute little ranch.
She made me a grilled cheese (just like Daddy) and
we watched a couple of episodes of Project Runway. I went into my
room and texted my best friend Ashley.
ME: Hey Ash. The
funeral's over, wanna come over now?
ASH: Yeah! Be over in 5.
I'm not usually the type to make friends. Ashley is pretty
much my only friend. We met at a school program for kids who have
had a parent or close person in their life pass away. I was there
because I kind of figured my father had died. Ash's big
brother died in a car crash 4 years ago. I felt so bad... But
together, we are two of the happiest teenage girls around.
She always knows how to brighten my day.
