Living With the Matthews

chapter four.

Skylar;
"This suuucks," I groaned.
"Maybe if you stopped complaining and being such a chick it wouldn't be so bad," Dylan snapped. I went over everything I've said to him since I've met him. Not much, but definitely nothing to offend him so badly that he'd be such a jerk to me.

"Jerk," I muttered, crossing my arms. He looked back at me with a 'what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-you' look, and rolled his eyes.
"What are you, four?" He spat. I didn't reply, but instead I brought my knees up to my chest buried my face in my legs so he wouldn't see my cry. This guy needed some serious anger management classes -- or a punch in the face.
"Dude, you're kinda being a dick," Sam finally stepped in after almost ten minutes. Kinda late, but it's better than nothing.
"Sam, no ones talking to you. Stay out of it," was Dylan's reply.
"You made her cry! She didn't even do anything wrong," Sam rose his voice.

I mentally cursed at Sam for telling Dylan that I was crying. Technically, I wasn't crying. I was just really upset. There were no tears coming out of my eyes.

"Hey, the rain is stopping. Let's go," Chase said hurriedly, as if on cue. The rain looked just as heavy as before. It was obvious he just wanted to distract us from fighting.

At least we made it home safely. After bringing in the bags and putting the groceries away, I decided that I wasn't doing anything for the rest of the day, due to the rain. I changed into some skinny jeans and a Harry Potter t-shirt that my dad got me for my fourteenth birthday. Smiling at the memory, I went to go find Chloe.

I heard noise coming from her bedroom, so I knocked.
"Come in," Chloe's voice sounded strained. I entered slowly, finding that Chloe was crying onto Garrett's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I'll come back later," I turned around to leave but was interrupted.
"No, sweetie. We need to talk to you anyway," Garrett forced a smile.
"What is it?" I went over to sit on the bed with them. They looked at each other and nodded, and I immediately knew that this was going to be bad news.

"Cody and T-Tristan went back to college today," Chloe paused, stifling her tears. "There was a, uh, shooting at the college that they're going to. We don't know if they w-were there when it happened, but haven't heard back from them and they wont answer their phones."
"Oh my God, no way! Are they okay?" I panicked.
"We don't know. They, um, haven't confirmed that they're okay yet, so we're going up to Georgia tomorrow morning. Caden is coming with us. You can come too, if you want, but we have to buy another ticket right now," Garrett sounded rushed.
"No, you guys have done so much for me, I can't let you spend a hundred dollars on a plane ticket."
"Alright, honey. If you don't mind, we have to start packing. I'll come down and talk to you later, okay?" Chloe said softly, standing up to grab a suitcase out of her closet.

I nodded and ran  back to my room, trying to figure out how I was going to stay in a house with four guys, while worrying about the lives of two others.

I really want an epic Sonic the Hedgehog hat.
That would RAWWWKKK. ;D
