I'd say if you wanna get it cut shorter, but you like being able the throw your hair up in buns and ponytails. Ask them to cut it short enough as to where you can still put it in ponytails and stuff.
I got my hair cut wickeddd short a few months ago, and i couldn't put it in ponytails anymore, and it bothered me sooo much.
