It's
been one week since the scare. One week of Miracle's
should-have-been life. The doctors lied to me. They lied to
Rachael. They told me I should be ready for Rachael to not make it
through, but for some reason, she didn't let go of the amazing
life God gave her. She was heart broken when the doctors told her
that Miracle wasn't able to breathe. The cord wrapped around
Miracle's neck and asphyxiated her. She wasn't stillborn,
but close to it. She didn't cry when she was born. Oh,
God...
Rachael got a bit restless in her hospital bed.
"Rach?" I whispered.
She looked at me with puffy red eyes.
"Do you need anything?"
She nodded her head, slowly.
"What?"
"My babies."
That broke my heart into a million little
pieces...again. I couldn't stand to see my wife in
so much pain. So much hurt. She lost a baby once, why did she have
to lose another? It just didn't make sense.
"Honey, I know, I know, I do too. I'm so
sorry sweetheart." I almost started crying myself.
Rachael pressed the nurse button.
"Yes, dear?" The speaker crackled.
"Can I have my medicine yet?" Rachael almost
cried.
"Yes, hun, I'll be there in a minute." The speaker
crackled and then shut off.
I decided to take a walk while Rachael slept from the
medication they gave her. As I was walking, though, I saw something
that I rather not have.
"Alright baby, I'll see you
later...what? Don't call you baby? How
come?...Yeah, I know you're married...screw it,
I'm coming anyway."
"Drake?" I muttered.
"What..."
"That wasn't my wife, was it?" I
snapped.
"So what if it was? What you
gonna do
'bout it?" Drake has been drinking.
I just walked away...
"Hey..." Rachel whispered.
"Yes, love?"
"I love you. But, I don't think it's
gonna work
out. Goodbye, Justin."
"No, Rach, please. What did I do.?!"
"Rachael loves me now. Get over
yourself. You may be the hottie, but I'm her first,
if you know what I mean...ha ha ha!" Drake laughed.
"No...no...no...no..." I mumbled.
Then I woke up to see Drake talking to
Rachael.
