Dreams were unshattered,
And worries were a
few.
When recess was to
short,
And life was to
long,
When decisions came
easily,
With no need to
belong.
When storks delivered
babies,
Only skinned knees
brought tears,
The night-light in our
rooms,
Quieted all our
fears.
When chocolate milk was
good,
And passions weren't
so strong,
Closet monsters were
scary,
Right was right and wrong
was wrong.
When all things were
solved,
By
'eni
meni miny mo'
When boys were so
yucky,
And goodbye meant till
tomorrow.
When imaginary
friends,
Were as real as you and
me,
When horrible things of
the world today,
Were things we did not
see.
When our clothes
didn't match,
And real friends
didn't part,
The fun went on
forever,
And no one
hade a BROKEN
HEART
